On Wednesday, May 26th, the Mobility Pass came into effect.1 This is an initiative implemented by the Ministry of Health, in order to give more freedom to people who have completed their coronavirus vaccination process.

However, the authorities have stressed that this certificate does not provide benefits, but rather exempts from certain restrictions. What are the measures that are softened with this Pass? How will it influence marriages? Solve all your doubts below.

Who can access

The Mobility Pass is a certificate that can only be obtained by people over 18 years of age, who have completed their vaccination process In the case of the Pfizer, Sinovac or AstraZeneca vaccines, 14 days must have passed since the second dose was administered, while in the case of the CanSino vaccine, 14 days must have passed since the inoculation of the single dose.

However, they will be able to access the Mobility Pass as long as they are not in a period of mandatory isolation due to being classified as a confirmed, probable or close contact case of coronavirus. In fact, it is classified as dynamic because, if a person falls into any of these situations, the certificate will be immediately updated with the new status. In the case of theminors may access the freedoms granted by the Pass, as long as they are accompanied by their mother, father or a guardian with a valid Mobility Pass.

What this Pass allows

The Mobility Pass allows free movement in a commune in Quarantine (Phase 1) or in Transition (Phase 2), without the need to apply for a permit in the Virtual Police Station. However, and according to the new indications2 from the country's health authorities As of Friday, June 4, people who live in communes in Quarantine will be able to use this pass only within their own commune and will not be able to travel outside it. As for people who live in Transition communes, they will not be able to go to communes in Quarantine, but they will be able to use their pass to go to sectors in Phase 2 and make interregional trips.

It should be noted that in Phase 1, free movement is prohibited from Monday to Monday, so permits must be obtained to make purchases or essential procedures, with a maximum of two. In Transition, on the other hand, movement is free from Monday to Friday, but on weekends and holidays it returns to Quarantine, being able to access only one permit.

What the Mobility Pass authorizes is therefore the movement in Quarantine and Transition without permits During the week, weekends and holidays, but only within their own commune, if they are in Quarantine and only to sectors in Phase 2, if they are in Transition, respecting all the regulations and restrictions of the Step by Step Plan, among them, the capacity in social gatherings, curfew hours and self-care measures.

Likewise, the Mobility Pass grants the possibility of making interregional trips between communes that are at least in Phase 2, abiding by the restrictions and regulations of the destination commune. In case of doubt, since it is from Transition, you can travel both during the week and on weekends. However, you must also carry the Interregional Health Passport (C19).

What about foreign travel

Mobility Pass only is valid within the national territory In addition, it was recently announced that the border closure will be extended until June 15, which means that travel abroad will continue to be prohibited, both for Chilean citizens and resident foreigners, except in exceptional cases, for which, through a form, authorization must be requested at the police station.Virtual.

How to get the Mobility Pass

To request this certificate, you must enter the website mevacuno.gob.cl. There you must fill in your login information, using your unique password or the email address provided at the time of vaccination, and then, in a menu on the left, you must click on "my vaccines".

There you will see the details of your vaccination schedule and, if it is complete, you can proceed to download your voucher, which will include a QR code. When the code is read by an authorized device, it will indicate whether the person has the Mobility Pass enabled or not. But anyway you can request a printed copy of the certificate in clinics orvaccination points.

And in the case of people over 70 years of age, they can use as an alternative their proof of vaccination card together with their identity card. In this case, it will be the responsibility of the carriers and inspectors to verify that there is no indication of isolation or quarantine.

Who will oversee the Pass

The reading of the Mobility Pass may be requested by personnel of the Seremi de Salud or by a supervising authority when controlling the movement in a commune in Quarantine or Transition.

It may also be checked by personnel who control access and carry permits in places where they can operate (such as supermarket guards), as well as officials of transport operating companies, and also by the health or supervisory authority in customs controls or sanitary cordons.

What the Pass does NOT change

To make it absolutely clear, this certificate promoted by the Ministry of Health does not change the capacity for social gatherings and the prohibition to participate in them in Quarantine and Transition (weekends and holidays).

It also does not allow to break the curfew, nor to abandon the self-care measures and, in the case of those who do not have permission to do so, will not be able to return to work in person. On this last point, it is key to emphasize that the Mobility Pass does not replace the Single Collective Permit issued by employers.

How this new scenario influences marriages

The outlook for the bride and groom doesn't change too much, since gauges are not altered in any phase of the Step by Step Plan. That is, if you are getting married in a commune in Phase 2, the maximum number of accompanying persons will remain at ten, with or without this Mobility Pass.

But if there is one thing that can benefit them, it is the ability to travel inter-regionally. What's more, knowing for sure that travel within Chile is possible will allow many couples to plan their honeymoon domestically.

Obviously, the conditions are not the most suitable for an idyllic honeymoon, but a few days of relaxation after the wedding will always do them good. A trip abroad, on the other hand, is best left for later, at least until the borders reopen definitively. It is worth remembering that this decree came into force on the 5th ofHowever, the authorities have extended the curfew for another 30 days, now until mid-June. Finally, don't forget that the curfew has been in effect since 19 May, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Remember to always consult and get information on the official pages of the Chilean Government:

If you have already completed your vaccination process, then you can choose -because it is voluntary- to download your Mobility Pass. In any case, the idea is to use this certificate responsibly and conscientiously, always respecting the health protocols and maintaining self-care measures.
