The bachelorette charms for marriage are part of the most valued traditions for brides in Chile and, although the custom was to take the ribbons out of the wedding cake, today brides have updated this rite, incorporating the charms to their bridal bouquet.

But, why is this moment so important? Because besides having a good time with friends, it is a way for the guests to try their luck and find out what the future holds for them by means of these little amulets that they can take home as a souvenir.

What are their meanings?

While the tradition is to hide the charms in the wedding cake and then each bachelorette grabs a tip and pulls it, nowadays there are new ways to do it, equally entertaining and with the same meaning.

  • In cupcakes: assemble some trays with cupcakes, ideally in tiers simulating the shape of a cake and embed the ribbons in each of these cakes. Your guests will love this sweet and original way to get the charms. Another similar version is to have the ribbons come out of some exquisite chocolates.
  • In a piñata: As with children's birthdays, choose a fun piñata, in the shape of a ring or a heart, for example, and insert the coloured ribbons to be pulled. Fill the piñata with challa so that it falls on the bachelorettes when it breaks.
  • In a chest: Another great idea is to mount the ribbons with charms inside a chest and leave it ajar so they can pull them out. It will be great fun to watch your cousins and friends search for their hidden treasure.
  • In an umbrella: choose a Chinese umbrella or an umbrella and hang the different ribbons with the charms on them, but wrap them in a small bag so that you can't see which is which. The result will be beautiful.
  • In the bridal bouquet: Tie several colorful ribbons -each one with its charms on the ends- to your bridal bouquet. Each guest should take one of the ribbons, and then you, in the center, start cutting or untying each ribbon. Each guest will keep her bachelorette charm, and the last one will also get the bouquet.
  • In a fish tank: Another idea is to put the ribbons with charms in a fishbowl, which you can fill with flowers or shells, depending on what best suits the decoration.

Choose a suitable presentation and music to make this one of the most entertaining moments of the wedding party. Your friends are sure to enjoy the laughter and dancing together and, of course, the charm they will take home with them.
